Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pharmacyclics pacts with Janssen to examine Opdivo and Imbruvica in non-Hodgkin lymphoma

Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Pharmacyclics, with Janssen Research & Development, will conduct a clinical trial to evaluate the safety, tolerability and preliminary efficacy of Bristol-Myers Squibb''s investigational PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor, Opdivo (nivolumab) with Imbruvica (ibrutinib), an oral Bruton''s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor co-developed and co-marketed by Pharmacyclics and Janssen.


Initial study will project mainly on evaluating the safety and anti-tumour activity of coupling Opdivo and Imbruvica as a possible treatment therapy for patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma (FL) and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). Subject to approval by health authorities and Bristol-Myers Squibb proposed name Opdivo (pronounced op-dee-voh) will serve as the trademark for the investigational drug, nivolumab.
