Identification of TCM Materia Medica Using FTIR
The medicinal effects of Chinese material medica (CMM) come from multicomponent compounds, so quality control methods can’t always determine the holistic fingerprints of samples.
The medicinal effects of Chinese material medica (CMM) come from multicomponent compounds, so quality control methods can’t always determine the holistic fingerprints of samples. What’s more, different kinds of CMM with similar components are difficult to discriminate through non-holistic fingerprinting.
FTIR methods have become widely used for herbal authentication of plants or medicines. The CMM spectra were developed from standard herbal reference of National Institute for Food and Drug Control China (NIFDC).
